Words to live by...

"How beautiful it is to do nothing, and to rest afterward."

[Spanish Proverb]

Ius luxuriae publice datum est

(The right to looseness has been officially given)

"Everyone carries a part of society on his shoulders," wrote Ludwig von Mises, "no one is relieved of his share of responsibility by others. And no one can find a safe way for himself if society is sweeping towards destruction. Therefore everyone, in his own interest, must thrust himself vigorously into the intellectual battle."

You can Blinq now

I must apologize. To the readers of this blog and to Blinq.com.

I wrote a piece about a keyboard [link] the other day (Tuesday, I think) which spoke of my problems with a recently purchased keyboard from that company. In it, I assumed that they would not rebate my shipping and handling charge.

Yesterday I learned how wrong I can be. They did credit the entire cost, including the S/H charges, to my credit card.

I am human. I screw up from time to time. This was one of those times.

In fact, I should praise Blinq.com because they did what few other online stores do. I am impressed. Quite impressed.

Put them on your list of "Good Guys", will you?

I buy almost everything online through Amazon.  I try to limit the amount of online retailers that have my credit card information.  I'll give them a look anyhow.

You are obviously rational. I have used different vendors for different things. I am a miserly old goat and seek out cheap deals which causes me to find all sorts of vendors.

Oh you will probably take that rational compliment back in the next few months when I post some of my old archive blogs.

I used to do the same thing. I'd find the cheapest price and go with them. Eventually though I got frustrated with the smaller companies that more often than not got the order wrong, sent a used product or took a long time to ship.

I just didn't want to fight anymore. Amazon has a great return policy and they really have your back when it comes to chasing after vendors. That's why I choose them "for a few dollars more."

My wife had some "issues" with Amazon but I haven't. Like you, I find them reliable and trustworthy. And I do go back to some of the vendors, ones I feel I can trust, so it works out ok. I must admit that Blinq.com surprised me by crediting the shipping charge. THey've made a fan of me.

Oh yeah free shipping is always great.

There are two rules i always follow when buying from Amazon.

1. Make sure it's "sold by Amazon."
2. Make sure it qualifies for free shipping.

Amazon sells for 3rd parties too which I don't buy from.

With the cheapest free shipping I get my stuff in a week.
