Words to live by...

"How beautiful it is to do nothing, and to rest afterward."

[Spanish Proverb]

Ius luxuriae publice datum est

(The right to looseness has been officially given)

"Everyone carries a part of society on his shoulders," wrote Ludwig von Mises, "no one is relieved of his share of responsibility by others. And no one can find a safe way for himself if society is sweeping towards destruction. Therefore everyone, in his own interest, must thrust himself vigorously into the intellectual battle."

Apparently, the crossword puzzle that disappeared from the blog, came back.

Should we trust that filet mignon?

Glued meat??? I receive the usual oddball emails from purported friends and various associates covering all the usual internet rumors but this one really caught my attention. I am, after all, a carnivore. Well, "omnivore" is a better description, I suppose because I do not limit my diet to meat.

I approach these emails with a huge amount of skepticism. I must... because my purported friends and various associates do not. So I check them out with Snopes and by Googling and usually find them either baseless fabrications or distortions of the truth.

That did not happen this time. Apparently, the story is true.

And I didn't even know there was such a thing as "meat glue."

Here's the link... see for yourself:

Yay!!! I love coming across Blogger blogs with Disqus as I too hate the standard blogger comments. Especially that rotten Captcha.

Anyway  back to the post,  I wanted to say I live in Tasmania & Today Tonight is a local current affair show on TV here.
So....
I can't help but wonder how much meat glue I've eaten because it is legal here...No wonder there's so much sickness about with all the stuff they pump into our food.

And yet... we are living longer and healthier lives than at any time in our history. It's a puzzle.

Good point, I never thought of it like that Douglas. We tend to hear about all the health problems but longer lives aren't mentioned much. I did my family tree a few years ago & it was surprising how many died before they were in their 60's & there seemed a very high infant mortality rate in those earlier centuries too too
