Words to live by...

"How beautiful it is to do nothing, and to rest afterward."

[Spanish Proverb]

Ius luxuriae publice datum est

(The right to looseness has been officially given)

"Everyone carries a part of society on his shoulders," wrote Ludwig von Mises, "no one is relieved of his share of responsibility by others. And no one can find a safe way for himself if society is sweeping towards destruction. Therefore everyone, in his own interest, must thrust himself vigorously into the intellectual battle."

Apparently, the crossword puzzle that disappeared from the blog, came back.

Saturday Special

I came across this while perusing the news today. I peruse the news because I am an unrepentant masochist, I suppose.

There is more at:

That is a great sculpture in my opinion. I love it. I, too, wonder why I peruse the news. Masochism must have something to do with it. And newspapers are so good at entertaining us with endless misery.

I'm a news junkie. I've largely migrated from papers and magazines to the Internet, but I feel isolated without news sites. That might be the reason, rather than masochism, why I just have to log into news sites, and I go crazy on a slow news day. That doesn't mean I've nothing else to do, I just have to dial into the news channels.
