The Random Comic Strip

Words to live by...

"How beautiful it is to do nothing, and to rest afterward."

[Spanish Proverb]

Ius luxuriae publice datum est

(The right to looseness has been officially given)

"Everyone carries a part of society on his shoulders," wrote Ludwig von Mises, "no one is relieved of his share of responsibility by others. And no one can find a safe way for himself if society is sweeping towards destruction. Therefore everyone, in his own interest, must thrust himself vigorously into the intellectual battle."

Apparently, the crossword puzzle that disappeared from the blog, came back.

A Quick Note

Yesterday I answered a challenge of sorts and was rewarded. I thought it was an interesting experiment and will do it again in the future.

Should it be a regular feature?

If so, should it be weekly? Monthly?

In fact, I have nothing much to say today. I am still recovering from this miserable flu. My battles with flu are always protracted. A consequence of a past illness which took control of my life for two years. I will probably get around to telling that tale but it is a depressing and angry one so do not encourage me.

I would like to thank everyone that participated in yesterday's discussion and encourage them to continue it. If not on here then in their homes, at work, anywhere they can.

Douglas and Log, you are to congratulated, the exercise was a brilliant success. I loved it, not only that, I have been trying to generate similar on Tomus, and failed. :-(

wordify Douglas, ijitypte... sounds like something from Green Fried Tomatoes.

AV - If I knew the formula, I would patent it. What I might perceive as the "secret ingredient" would only be my perception.

I would think ijitypte would be something typed by an idiot.

HI,
Here via ReduceFootprints. Noob to your site. But I added you to my blogroll and RSS. Boomers gotta stick together!

I think weekly is too much to handle. Every two or three weeks sounds better to me.

Congratulations on the award.

I was about to type 'Congratulations on the award!', but you seldom use exclamation marks so I am inclined to follow your lead. Weird.

Michael.

AV- I am going to decline the award. I will do the 10 things. But the award violates my self imposed restriction on language. I am no less honored, however.

Sixty - Welcome aboard. I look forward to the development of your site. We might, indeed, be fellow travelers.

Michael - I think you are right about the interval. Maybe random, no more than once a month might be workable.
I seldom use exclamation points because I rarely get excited these days.

Douglas, cool, I had wondered about that. I will make a version that is acceptable. Probably Monday before I gate a chance.

I lied, the new version is on the original post, but I forgot to invert it, I will. Monday.

Argentum: Thanks for the compliment, but the credit should go entirely to Douglas. I was just the instigator. I agree that the discussion was lively. In fact, it has prompted me to check out more about each one of you. Sorta like real life. Meet interesting people through people you already know....
