We say the sun rises in the morning and sets in the evening. But it doesn't, the earth revolves west to east and the sun is relatively motionless. I can't figure out the right way to say that. In the morning my side of the earth dips? The sun doesn't pass overhead, we pass underneath, don't we?
Theoretically, I could walk north just so far and then I am headed south. But I cannot walk east until I am headed west.
Why do we need shoes if feet evolved for the purpose of walking upright? And, if we need shoes, why do they always hurt our feet?
If I get up in the morning shouldn't I get down in the evening?
I still don't quite get the difference between supper and dinner.
Which way is up in space?
We think all politicians are corrupt, that they aren't looking out for our best interests, and are catering to one or more special interest groups. But we keep re-electing the same ones.
If you are standing at the north pole, is south the only direction in which you can go?
The following things I am somewhat less confused about...
My brother and sister once tried to convince me I was adopted. They convinced me that I wanted to have been.
I went out this morning to Weed and Feed my lawn. I am not sure why I do this, it just makes it grow and then I have to mow it. Yet I feel compelled to do this.While doing this, I noticed some yellow flowers in the lot behind my house. They are cactus flowers. They popped up some time in the last few days. They appear to be a variety of Monk's Head. Not that I know anything about such things.
We now have an avocado tree growing in a pot on the back porch. It is maybe 30" high. My sister-in-law grew it from a seed. It's perhaps two or three months old.And a pineapple plant. From a pineapple. Sorry, no picture of that. I am waiting for the fruit to emerge.
My key lime tree is doing well. I have picked several limes from it and, while I haven't eaten any or made any pies, they have added to the enjoyment of my occasional Gin and Tonic.

Such are the mysteries of life. I will, from this day on, get down in the mornings, quite logical really.
A further mystery is taking a shower, hell, I take medicine, you think I am going to try and take a whole damn shower...
Avocado trees are enormous, they can grow to 60ft. Pineapples take 5 years to mature and fruit, so you'll be waiting some time for that photo.

Hey! I thought everybody got down in the evening. If you can't get down after work when can you? What confuses me is at home I pay a bill with a check but in a restaurant I pay a check with a bill. What's up with that?

You all had a few more oddities than I mentioned. We draw a bath? I'd rather sit in one. We don't actually rest in restrooms, do we? Life is just chock full of incongruities...

I'm so happy to hear about your plants. Nature is really simple and pleasant on the back porch, isn't it? (Unlike the North Pole that stirs up quite a lot of problems.)
