Words to live by...

"How beautiful it is to do nothing, and to rest afterward."

[Spanish Proverb]

Ius luxuriae publice datum est

(The right to looseness has been officially given)

"Everyone carries a part of society on his shoulders," wrote Ludwig von Mises, "no one is relieved of his share of responsibility by others. And no one can find a safe way for himself if society is sweeping towards destruction. Therefore everyone, in his own interest, must thrust himself vigorously into the intellectual battle."

Apparently, the crossword puzzle that disappeared from the blog, came back.

Taking a few days off

It's December 22nd and I have done little to no shopping yet. You probably have lots to do yourself. So why are you here? Go. Shop. Enjoy the crowds. Spend money and revive the economy. Or make your own gifts. I think the last is best.

I may have nothing much for the next few days because I always wait till the last minute to deal with this particular holiday.

So, I will just say it now...

Merry Christmas to all.

Merry Christmas Douglas, I haven't done mine yet, only got my own...

I actually did all my Xmas shopping in Jan with the sales, me next shopping will be in Jan again. Doing it that way, I save a small fortune.

(AV thinks - then why am I broke?)

Hope that the experience shopping is not too stressful. For roughly 20 years now, I have accomplished all of my Xmas shopping in about an hour. I simply go to the Metropolitan Museum of Art Store and purchase all of the gifts related to the individuals for whom I am purchasing them. Extensive price range. And then I walk out.

Have a good holiday and thanks for participating in our exchange of ideas.

P.S. The Chicago Institute of Art has such a gift shop, although I am not sure whether they are "franchised" throughout the nation.
